Dearborn Public Schools’ Art Department is celebrating its 25 Annual Empty Bowls Dinner on Mon, Nov 19 at Park Place Banquet Hall from 4-6:30. You may make a $5 donation and choose a beautiful handmade bowl. All proceeds will go to Gleaners food bank and Blessings in a Backpack. STEAM will start this week for grades 3-5. Notification letters for grades three and five went out Monday. Letters for fourth grades students will go out tomorrow. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to email me.
In February, Snow fifth graders will participate in the sculpture initiative, a day long event at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. In addition to learning about sculptures throughout Dearborn, the students will create their own found object sculpture. I am in need of the following items:

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”
If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools. Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years. Read on »
