I just wanted to share this very cool depiction of a Rubik’s Cube by 5th grader Kasey T:
Here is a picture of kindergartner, Giavona, working on her chameleon:
Third grader Ali A. created this whimsical drawing of a giraffe:
1) Newspaper (or magazine or really any type of paper) pottery: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC7abaoF9Hg
2) Here’s a recipe you can make at home to create modeling clay (because this requires the use of a stove, make sure there is an adult available to help):
Homemade Air-Dry Modeling Clay {aka baking soda clay}
Place all ingredients into a pot over medium heat. Stir the mixture almost constantly, until it thickens and becomes the consistency of whipped mashed potatoes. Let cool and then knead until smooth and no longer sticky. Done! Now create!
3) Food Coloring watercolor paint (make sure you add water to the food coloring and wear old clothes and/or an apron):

4) 100 silly drawing prompts:
These adorable chameleons were created by the Young 5s at Snow.
Here is a sample of some of the great art I’ve received over the past couple of days from our upper elementary students:
All of this colorful, fun art was created by kindergartner, Rachel S.
Here is first grader Reem A. with her Peeps diorama:
Third grader Akram’s origami rocket ship:
Another rocket ship from Jenna M. in also in 3rd grade:

This post is a little late, but for those of you who celebrate Easter, you may be familiar with Peeps marshmallow candies. In some parts of the country, it is popular to create a Peeps diorama. Now if you don’t know what a diorama is, it’s a miniature scene with three-dimensional figures. You can use a shoebox or any piece of sturdy cardboard for the backdrop. I’ve included some pictures of student made Peeps dioramas below, along with a link to directions if you’re interested in creating one yourself. You don’t even have to use Peeps if you don’t have any either. You can use Legos, any small toy, mold figures out of modelling clay….anything you have laying around the house!
