Happy Thursday!
Today we had our class Root Word Challenge. We tried to come up with as any words as possible that use the root mono. Some especially impressive words that students came up with were monomania (an obsession with one thing) and monospecific (specific to one species).
We also continued to practice for our Character Development Quiz tomorrow. Students read the short drama “King Alfred” and analyzed how the main characters responded to events within the story. Tomorrow students will need to turn in three things: 1. Vocabulary Tracker for Characterization 2. Green Reading 4Square 3. ReadTheory quizzes (this will be checked online-but it is due tomorrow).
Students also received permission slips for the December field trip to Henry Ford Museum. Permission slips and money need to be returned to Core 1 teachers by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11th. This is extremely important!! Please make sure to bring in the permission slip and money ASAP in order to attend 🙂
