Happy conference day!

We have begun working on two new skills: analyzing central idea and analyzing theme. On Monday we took notes on theme, and students practiced with a partner and independently.

Today, we worked on pages 69-71 in our workbooks as we continued analyzing central idea and theme. We completed this practice with the support of a group, and students completed one final independent practice at the end of class as a way of checking in on their progress.

Our bellwork focus for this week is identifying parts of speech. Students stapled a guide to parts of speech in their notebooks, and we will continue referring to this and using it to help us as we break apart sentences.

Conferences are tonight from 3:30-6:30! We look forward to seeing you all soon!
