Hello everyone!

We are also working on a Close and Critical Reading project on this story. Last Friday, students completed a plot pyramid for “All Summer in a Day” and yesterday they made covers for the project using analysis questions about Margot. The character analysis cover needs to be completed and glued on before the final project is turned in on Friday.

Today we reviewed similes and metaphors in “All Summer in a Day” and practiced analyzing some examples. This was in preparation for tomorrow when students will be closely analyzing passages from the text to locate and explain why Ray Bradbury used figurative language. This analysis will be included in the final Close and Critical Reading project.

The simile/metaphor 3 step analysis is due tomorrow. Students may choose any similes or metaphors from the sort posted below.

Spirit week reminders:
Wednesday is COLOR WARS! All 6th graders need to wear as much green as possible. Wednesday is also the PBIS movie reward.
Thursday is Halloween. Students may wear a costume if they bring in $1 for a costume pass.
Friday is Woodworth Spirit Day. Wear all of your Hornet gear. We are celebrating Hornet pride with a school-wide assembly at the end of the day.
