Dear Parents and Families,
It’s already the last week of October. This year is really flying by! We are happy to say that MEAP is over. The kids really did a good job of trying hard and doing their best. Thank you for your support throughout testing.
This week we will be back to normal- kind of! On Wednesday, the Pumpkin Patch will be held. Those who brought $4 will be participating. On Thursday, we will have the Halloween Parade. The kids can not wear costumes to school, but they may do their faces at home before school if they will have MINIMAL amounts of face paint. We will still have gym Thursday, so gym clothes must be worn. They will change into costumes before the parade.
For the party- students may bring WRAPPED treats. NO CUPCAKES OR COOKIES, please! Only treats that can be brought home are allowed. They must bring enough for everyone, if you are bringing something. There are 23 students in our class.
In Math this week, I hope to wrap up the Unit on Data landmarks and addition/subtraction. We will continue to practice these things and hopefully will be assessed on Friday. There won’t be a study guide, just what we do in class.
In science, we will continue on with our Life Science Unit. We will talk about traits of animals and how they are helpful/harmful to them.
In social studies, we will continue to talk about map skills and immigration will be coming back into this theme.
In Language arts, we will work on Long i words and patterns. Also, we will continue to work on compare/contrast writing that we started last week. We will also begin an independent compare/contrast writing.
Thanks,
Mrs. Shupe
