Important Reminders
10/28 Boo Bash today from 3:30-5:30 (Only if students bought bracelets last week). No at the door sales!
10/31 Halloween activity: students may bring individually warped candy. No peanuts please!
11/1 Half a Day. Dismissal is at 11:10
Spelling: List #7 (2-syllable words-closed)
List A: kitten, rabbit, dentist, monster, contest, basket, comet, ribbon, silver, napkin

Spelling Test: Friday
- Each week your child will add a spelling card to this collection. Please save the cards for Random Spelling Week. Students will study List A or List B for the week, depending on pretest results. All students will need to study the words in “both” section. There will be 5 content words added as well for a total of 20 words.
- Tic-Tac-Toe: Students will use the same board for the first nine weeks. They will choose three squares to complete and hand in on Friday. Have fun π
Reading for 20-30 Minutes
~20-30 minutes βIn addition to reading books, students may use Mobymax and any reading assignment towards the 30 minutes of reading . Log your reflections/summary in the homework page titled Reading Log.
~Reading: For the next few weeks we will be learning Informational text standards 3.1, 3.4, and 3.5
RI. 3.1 Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers.
RI. 3.4 Determine the meaning of general academic and domain-specific words and phrases in a text relevant to a grade 3 topic or subject area.
RI. 3.5 Use text features and search tools (e.g., key words, sidebars, hyperlinks) to locate information relevant to a given topic efficiently.

Language Arts:
Students study grammar and language review Monday-Thursday. Study guides comes home Thursday and the quiz will be Friday. Skills include: abstract/concrete nouns, pronouns, context clues, editing, plural nouns end in (ch, sh, ss, x).
Math:
OBJECTIVE OF TOPIC A: 1 Explore time as a continuous measurement using a stopwatch. 2 Relate skip-counting by 5 on the clock and telling time to a continuous measurement model, the number line. 3 Count by five and one on the number line as a strategy to tell time to the nearest minute on the clock. 4 Solve word problems involving time intervals within 1 hour by counting backwards and forwards using a number line and clock. 5 Solve word problems involving time intervals within an hour by adding and subtracting on the number line.
Homework: pages will be assigned daily from the succeed book. Sometimes, homework will also be in the weekend.
Math using Technology: Zearn and Mobymax
Social Studies:What is a geographer, what is a state, and what city do you live in. Study the vocabulary.
Science: Forces-push, pull, and balanced forces.Paragraph
Snacks: Thanks for providing your child a healthy snack. Thank you for your help and support :),
