Hello Everyone!!! I hope everyone is doing well and adjusting to the routines of the school year. I am ready for things to slow down just a tad!!!! Here are some are some upcoming dates to remember and some information about our class.
We now have 22 students in our class. We have 14 boys and 8 girls. And a very fun group too!
Please remember to bring snack each day and a water bottle. At this point I do not have any extra snack for those who have forgotten to bring a snack. If I send them to the cafeteria they will be charged a snack on their account. If anyone is willing to donate a box of snacks, ex. goldfish, animal crackers, pretzels. I would gladly accept and appreciate your kindness.
This Thursday September 12, 2019 is Open House. It is a fun night to come and see the school and also browse the Scholastic book Fair.
Today we went to the book fair and made a wish list. if you chose to purchase the books on the paper, please send the correct amount of money in a envelope with your child’s name and the wish list.
This week we will start testing the NWEA reading test. I am going to try to do this test in a small group setting on the chrome book computers. Just remember to remind your child to try their best and to listen very carefully.
This week I will be sending home a math book for you to work on as we do the lessons in class. You can do the follow up lesson at home. This will only benefit your child. I will not be collecting the book , I am just trusting you that you will try each lesson with your child at home. Each week i will tell you what lessons we will be covering in class and you can do those same lessons at home. Please keep this book at home and do not return it to school.
Please remember to check your child red foldr each day and empty the unnecessary papers from it each night.
This week we will start learning words. The words I, the, can, see. I will be sending home word cards to practice reading with their homework folder. We will also be learning the letter and sound for S, M, R, B. We will be discussing rhyming words, and the different parts of a book. We have also started building stamina with our book boxes and learning to practice reading to our selves. We have also discussed three ways to read a book too.
In math we will be learning lessons 4 – 8. We are practicing counting, sorting, and classifying.
We have been learning a lot about our names and have been doing different activities with our names. Please continue practicing writing their names and also using scissors.
