Movement Monday

Happy Monday! Today we would have had gym class. Has your child been getting exercise?

Check out our gym teacher Ms. B’s blog for movement ideas: https://iblog.dearbornschools.org/budopw/

*Parent please note that Ms. B teaches students of different ages and abilities so only choose the activities that are most appropriate for your child*

Here are some ideas to get your child moving today:

  • Practice walking up and down stairs
  • Take a family walk
  • Practice hopping – play hopscotch
  • Play tag – the kids love to be chased 🙂

Free Friday!!!

Hi, boys and girls! Thank you for everyone who attended our Google Hangout meeting. It was so nice to see all of your beautiful, smiling faces! Our meetings are bittersweet; I am so glad that we are still able to connect but it also breaks my heart because I cannot see you.

FREE FRIDAY: Today is such a nice day outside that I just want you to go outside and play! Use your fine motor skills and play with some sidewalk chalk. Go on a walk with your families and identify the colors of the cars that you see.

Have a great weekend- it’s supposed to be beautiful!

As usual, I love and miss you all so much! Sending your big hugs. Xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxo

It’s a beautiful day!

Wow, what a beautiful day it is outside! I hope that you all have gotten outside to play! I am so sorry that we had to cancel our meeting! 🙁 Unfortunately some older kids did not follow rules and were being disrespectful on Google Hangouts so we cannot use it until the district fixes the issue. Hopefully we will be able to meet next week!
For your homework today I would like you to go outside and go on a nature scavenger hunt. Have fun, boys and girls!

Happy Ramadan!!!

Daily Living Skills

Don’t forget to keep working on your child’s daily living skills!

Daily living skills are important to practice so your child can become independent.  Self help skills also help your child to feel empowered!  We practice many of these at school on a daily basis.

Try working on one or more of the skills listed below today:

  • Wipe down tables
  • Put away clean clothes
  • Brush their hair
  • Wash hands – we worked on this every day at school they know they the steps!
  • Pulling pants up and down when its time to use the bathroom
  • Throw away trash after a snack
  • Putting away toys
