Welcome back! 

I hope you had a wonderful and restful Spring Break.  I also hope that you are ready to successfully complete the remainder of this School year!   Are you refreshed and ready to do your best in the MSTEP, Spring NWEA and the last marking period for this school year?

We will review your new learning goals you have prepared for the second semester!  With that said, I am confident you are ready to complete your 6th grade journey with a growth mindset because if you believe that you can, then you are already halfway there!

 

 

This week in Science: (Traits Unit-part 2) 

  • We will complete our independent investigation about observable inherited traits through multiple activities:
    • Trait tracker
    • Heredity Hunt
    • Punnett Square dice roll
    • Task Cards Completion
  • I am hoping to re-open the Home Expo this week on Wednesday (A-Day)and Thursday (B-Day)

Our learning targets for this week are: 

1.What are inherited traits? (homozygous traits vs heterozygous traits)

2.How are traits governed by the genetic material found in the genes within chromosomes in the cell’s nucleus?

  • Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday 4/11 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Parents are to pick up their child’s report card in the atrium before visiting the classroom.  As always, there is a 5-minute conference time per student.  
  • The first 24-Hour Skypeathon meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m in the auditorium.
