Welcome back and Happy New Year 2017!

I hope you had a wonderful and restful break and ready to return to our viking nation science community soon. I will be extending the extra credit essay until Friday 1/13/2017 for those who couldn’t work on it during break.

We have completed out Life Science unit and are moving on to Physical Science which deals with both Physics and Chemistry. We will begin this week with an online Forces, Motion & Energy pre-test which ofcourse will not be included in their grade book, but they will write their score in their journal and test their knowledge about this unit. In summary this unit will cover, matter and its phases, conduction convection and radiation, potential and kinetic energy and lastly Newtons Laws of motion.

This week we will revisit our learning goals we created in the beginning of the school year and revise them. We will reflect on the year so far, set long term goals for the future, and determine the steps that will help us achieve them.

This week will focus on Matter, phase changes, and lab investigations.
