Students will learn how to write scientific notation.( Group work/ Independent skill).

Students will close read Poe’s ” The Tell- Tale Heart” and examine Plot Elements.

Students will analyze character traits of protagonist applying CER.

U.S. History

Unit of Study:  The Thirteen Colonies

Students will read and analyze an  informational text and learn significant facts about the thirteen colonies.  Students will compare & contrast 13 colonies ( Geography/ Econony/ culture)

Student will learn new academic vocabulary. They will complete Frayer model and Talk-to-Text.

Physical Science

Unit of Study: Natural Selection-continue

They will read informational articles, learn new academic vocabulary, and write a structured paragraph about Natural selection and species’ adaptation to changing habitats.

Students will learn about narrative text structure and complete a personal narrative outline(Teacher will model how to write a well-developed narrative essay)

Unit of Study:  The Triangular Trade/ Middle Passage

Students will read and analyze an  informational text and learn significant facts about the triangular trade.  Student will learn new academic vocabulary. They will complete Frayer model and Talk-to-Text.

Students will analyze fiction texts ( Text # 2) titled ” The Ultimate weapon”, identify plot elements and cite textual evidence to support claim.

Students will apply structured reading and writing , complete plot Diagram # 2 and will orally present it. It will be graded as a summative assessment

U.S. History

Unit of Study:  Spanish Colonies

Students will read and analyze  informational texts and learn significant facts about Spain in the New World.  Student will learn new academic vocabulary.

They will complete Frayer model and Talk-to-Text.
