Juniors took the M-Step today beginning 2nd hour and running through 3rd hr.  First hour was the only hour that followed the following plan:

Bellwork reviewed the probabilities covered so far.  This bellwork took a good portion of the period.

The remainder of the period we continued to discuss the probability of passing a five-question T/F quiz by guessing.  We analyzed the results of the simulation from yesterday and used the results to come up with the Experimental Probability.  We then investigated the Theoretical Probability and compared the two.

Bellwork reviewed geometric probability, probability of multiple events, and conditional probability.

The remainder of the period we fininished Sec 12-2, Conditional Probability.  We then began discussing Sec 12-6, starting with a simulation of guessing at five True/False questions.

Hwk #16 is due on Thursday.    Sec 12-2

Bellwork reviewed finding the probability of multiple events P(A and B) and answering a geometric probability question.

Review for Quiz #4 was made available to the students today.  Date of the quiz is still to be determined.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion of Sec 9-7 by determining if two events are Mutually Exclusive or not and using this to find P(A or B).

Hwk #15 is due on Monday.   Sec 9-7

Thursday, April 12, 2018

Bellwork gave students practice using Combinations, Permutations, and the Multiplication Counting Principle.

Hwk #14 is due today.

The remainder of the period we practiced using a Venn Diagram to find probability.  Then we began our discussion on Sec 9-7:  Probability of Multiple Events.
