1st, 2nd, 3rd Hours:
Bellwork had students find the dimensions of a box created from a flat piece of metal in order to create the greatest volume. This bellwork gave students practice modeling a real situation with a cubic equation then using the graphing calculator to find the value of x that creates a maximum value of the function.
Hwk #1 is due today.
The remainder of the period we began our discussion on Sec 9-1, Inverse Variation.
Hwk #2 is due tomorrow. Sec 9-1

4th & 5th Hours:
Bellwork gave students practice creating scatter plots with the graphing calculator, finding either a linear or quadratic regression equation, and then using the equation to answer a question.
Hwk #2 is due today.
The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 5-1, Modeling data with a Quadratic Function.
Hwk #3 is due tomorrow. Sec 5-1
