Eclipse

here is a lunar eclipse on Sunday which will result in a blood red moon. Here are some resources you might be interested in:
  • website that has an interactive demo of what you’ll see during the eclipse Sunday night, minute by minute, and at what time it will turn red, (around 11:30).

  •   Lesson plans for a Mystery Science video on the eclipse

I had my substitute on Monday show the Mystery science video to 3 classes: Herrod, Mozham and Fouani but based on their papers from that day, they may benefit from a 2nd viewing so they can complete the worksheet.  My lesson plan link is posted below.  It is a good example of how I start and stop the Mystery Science videos so students have time to record their predictions and observations so they are figuring out for themselves why the phenomena happens instead of just listening to the answer from Doug.  Even if you don’t have time to show the video it might help you understand how the Mystery Science lessons can be improved to be closer aligned to NGSS.
