1. Oakman Folder-Sign and return behavior calendar for March!

 *** MAKE SURE TO FILL IN READING MINUTES ON READING LOG (taped to folder for Monday-Friday)— students got some new book in their reading bag today so make sure to read for 20 minutes!!! YOU CAN WIN LOTS OF FUN PRIZES BUT MUST READ 20 MINUTES EVERYDAY!!!!!***

** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is, has, for, are, here, you, dog, up, on, have, said, it, she, me, went and 2 NEW sight words am and put.

***Great job on assessment yesterday, a few students have a note to be re-tested on Friday.

3.READING GROUP BAG—> read NEW book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.”  Please keep alphabet linking chart and on back NEW consonants blends and digraphs in their bag– this is to help with reading and writing during reading groups and can be practiced at home as part of 15 minutes of reading each night!

4. Math Module 4 NEW homework workbook, helper on page 11 and homework page 13.

5. Spelling Notebook

  • Wednesday: Building Words!
    • Write each spelling word one letter at a time, for example:

Maria Dismondy, author, is visiting OAKMAN Tomorrow– order a book NOW to have it signed tomorrow!!!

We will be having the Author Maria Dismondy visit Oakman during March is Reading Month.

She will be coming on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019. She will be having a book signing!

Dismondy is a children’s book author from Michigan! She’s written Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun, and The Juice Box Bully. She’s had 8 award-winning books. Each one of her books has an empowering message. We are excited to have her come to Oakman!

Practice our assessment of all 40 words is Monday, March 11.  sight words list

Today the students finished their nutrition class and got books and certificates! They put them in their reading bags and are excited to read them as part of their 20 minutes for march is reading month and to complete their new logs in their folders!! 📖

****Please see me to sign up as a guest mystery reader for March is Reading month.  Daily at 3:00 we are hoping to have a surprise reader come— bring a book or barrow one from me… after you read, we pack up, and you can take your child home (dismissal 3:35).  Thank you!!!!
