Week of June 1st – June 5th

Hello class, I hope everyone had a joyful weekend.

This week we will continue with Global Cuisine.

We WILL NOT meet virtually this week for I’m not in town and have very limited internet access.

You will be able to access the pre-recorded classroom meeting via ILearn under Pokrywki Culinary Arts First Year that will be posted for Tuesday 6/2/2020 and Thursdays 6/4/2020 class sessions. These pre-recorded videos will provide you with what is expected for an assignment, therefore make sure that you watch the pre-recorded videos to ensure the best grade.

I will still be available via REMIND and Email if you need any assistance, so please don’t hesitate to ask any questions that you may have.

Week of May 11th – May 15th

Hopefully everyone enjoyed their weekend and that all of you students did something extra special for your mom’s on Mother’s Day.

This week we will be finishing up Chapter 11 Grains, Legumes, and Pasta. We will take a closer look at the different cooking methods for cooking grains and legumes, and we’ll look at how to make fresh pasta.

Tuesday and Thursday we will have our virtual class. All virtual classrooms will meet ON TIME in Ilearn under Pokrywki Culinary Arts First Year. This is the same Ilearn site that we used all school year for test taken.

Times for our virtual meetings will be during our normal class times, 2/3 hour at 10:30am -11am and 4/5 hour from 11:30 am – 12 noon. This is where I’ll introduce your assignment for this week, therefore it’s important that you login and attend class.

Stay safe and see you all tomorrow during our “new normal” class room times 🙂

Week of May 4th-May 8th

Hello Culinary Students and Parents.

This week we’ll continue looking at Chapter 11 in our Foundations of Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts Level One Textbook, regarding Grains and Pastas.

This week you’ll be looking at section 2 of chapter 11. We will learn about different grains and legumes, different cooking methods on how to prepare grains and legumes and methods for selecting, receiving and storing grains.

You’ll need to make sure that you login to google classroom on both Tuesday and Thursday for our classroom meetings for your daily assignments.

I’ll update you on where our new “safe” meeting place will take place after our department meeting today. I’ll be emailing you with information on Bigbluebutton found on ILearn, that will now replace our meeting times for Google Meets. The district is providing instructions on how to use this new platform and I’ll email you with directions as well.

Smile Class, its Monday 🙂
