Homework & Reminders 3-5–19

** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is, has, for, are, here, you, dog, up, on, have, said, it, she and new sight words get and an new words me and went make 40. ***ALL should be memorized for reading and some should be able to spell on own AND begin using to write SENTENCES!!

3.READING GROUP BAG—> read NEW book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.”  Please keep alphabet linking chart and on back NEW consonants blends and digraphs in their bag– this is to help with reading and writing during reading groups and can be practiced at home as part of 15 minutes of reading each night!

4. Math- homework Lesson 31: Homework helper on page 319 and homework on page 321.

5. Spelling Notebook:

  • Tuesday: Consonants/Vowels!
    • Write each spelling word using one color for consonants and another color for vowels. Repeat 2 times.

Today we worked on singular and plural nouns… please correct your child when they are speaking if they are not saying correct sentences (and encourage them to speak in complete sentences as it helps their writing sooooo much!!)

  • Thursday: Fun Sentences!  ***SPELLING TEST TOMORROW!!!!****
    • Write a sentence using one spelling word in each sentence. Make sure to include Capitals, spaces and punctuation!  The BONUS sentence must be a complete sentence with uppercase letter at the beginning of the sentence, spaces and punctuation!

Oakman Folder-Sign and return behavior calendar for February!    

  1. Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” each night and practice sight words… NEW books for reading pictures, listening and asking/answering questions (use bookmark), finding sight words, etc. were given in see through reading bag. 
  2. Check out your child’s poem book, read it together, and sign in the front of the book.

Today we started “blends.” We focused on bl and cl blends… check your child’s folder for their “T” chart and ask them about what we learned in class today. Please review the videos together as well. We are doing a great job of s—t—r—e—c—-h—ing out words to WRITE and READ!!!
