Tomorrow is Field Day!!! A few reminders….

 

***Parents are encouraged to attend– you cannot ride the bus, but please meet us at Levagood park around 9:30— we begin swimming at 10 and will be at the pool until 12 noon and then have lunch.***

1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for MAY!!— please practice sight words on paper and be READY for FINAL ASSESSMENT ON THURSDAY, JUNE 6th!!!!!!!!!!

3.READING GROUP BAG—> , re-read old books for fluency AND read NEW book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.”  Please keep alphabet linking chart and on back NEW consonants blends and digraphs in their bag– this is to help with reading and writing during reading groups and can be practiced at home as part of 15 minutes of reading each night!

4. Math Homework Workbook– Module 5, lesson 13 on page 227. (homework helper is page 225)

Oakman’s Levagood Field Day Friday, June 7th, 2019– $5.00 and permission slips must be turned in by tomorrow (Friday!) for your child to attend!!!

The swimming pool will be available for 2 hours. Students who wish to swim need to bring swimming clothes in a bag, sunscreen and a towel.

NO STREET CLOTHES ALLOWED IN THE POOL

Park Activities include:

*Obstacle Course *Tug of War

*Volleyball *Basketball

*Bean Toss *3 Legged Race

*Egg and Spoon Race *Frisbees

**Students may bring rollerblades, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls

 

**Special Guest: Detroit Pistons Mascot “Hooper”**

LAST Kindergarten Spelling Week of May 28th Test on Friday, May 31st This week’s spelling words are: have come has tub rub Plus 2 other words from the –ub family (such as sub, cub, stub, grub, snub, etc.) Thank you for practicing spelling words EACH NIGHT by doing daily assignments (inside cover) in spelling notebooks. Do some (5-10 minutes) EACH NIGHT to be ready for the test!
