Just want to let parents know that we have started mid year NWEA testing. We started today with Science and most of our students did very well! Many students met or passed their goals.
These test are not anything that your child can “study” for. It essentially shows the growth that your child has made in the areas of science, math, reading and grammar over the course of the first half of this year. Our scheduled tests are a couple of mornings a week sprinkled over the next three weeks.
Making sure your child is well rested and eating breakfast will help them concentrate better while taking these tests. They could do a little work on MobyMax to help them practice answering test type questions.
At the end of January, when all test are finished, I will print you out another bar graph progress sheet with their new mid year scores, like the one we reviewed together at conferences.
