APUSH Timeline Assignment
APUSH Timeline Due 10/19/15-
25 Summative Points
Create a Timeline with the following requirements-
- 10 most important historical events from 1607-1754
- 7 Pictures that represent 7 of the events
- Include a 2 sentence description of event
- Plus your justification of why it was important
- Can be done by hand or on the compter
- Please try to make it 11×17 or 8.5 x11 (normal page size), you may use multiple pages if you need to.
- Neatness counts
- The nicer it looks will result in it likely receiving a higher grade, please do not wait to the last second and throw something together.
- This assignment is to help raise grades, not lower them (put some effort into making a niece piece, I can tell… really I can)
APUSH Chapter 8 Questions
Chapter 8 questions for question 6 on the one-pager:
- What were the causes and consequences of the American Declaration of Independence in 1776?
- Why did Americans choose not only to break from Britain, but to adopt a republican form of government in 1776? What republican ideas did they share, and what did they disagree about?
- What role did France play in winning America’s independence?

I will not be at school tomorrow (10/8). You should bring your books to class. You will be working on a one pager for chapter 7. Use the following discussion questions for box #6.
1. How and why did the Americans and the British differ in their views of taxation and of the relationship of colonies to the empire?
2. What was the theory and practice of mercantilism? What were its actual effects on the colonies, and why did the colonists resent it so much?
3. What advantages ans disadvantages did the American rebels and the British each possess as the was began? What did each side do to mobilize its resources most effectively?
4. Given the history of the colonies’ founding and British “benign neglect” until the period just before the Revolution, was the American Revolution inevitable? Or could the thirteen colonies have remained peacefully attached to Britain for many years, as Canada did?
