Good morning everyone! Here’s what we have going on in World History today:

 

  • Video-Athens Dawn of Democracy (13 min)-Section 2
  • Activity-Comparing the Great Greek Philosophers 
  • Video-HORRIBLE HISTORIES-Wife Swap: Spartans and Athenians (4:25 min)
  • Daily Objective-

o       Content Objective: SWD analysis of the beliefs of the Greek philosophers by categorizing the thoughts and theories that shaped early academic thought through creating a thinking map

o       Language Objective: Students will record the beliefs of the three main Greek philosophers through an activity designed to categorize the major beliefs that influenced Greek thought through the use of a bubble map

Good afternoon everyone! Today (9/17/2013) I will be joining several of my fellow history teachers for the first meeting of the 2013-2014 Social Studies Cohort. Unfortunatly, that means I will be out for the day so we will be completing a guided worksheet packet today in class. Good luck, work hard and have a good day everyone.

o Daily Objective-

  • Content Objective: SWD comprehension of the materials covered in Chapter 5 Sections 1-3, students will illustrate their understanding of the material covered through the use of a review packet
  • Language Objective: Students will read, and write the key terms, main themes and important concepts covered in Chapter 5 Sections 1-3. Students will demonstrate their understanding by completing a structured worksheet packet.

o        Content Objective: SWD analysis of their understanding of exemplary behavior by categorizing expectations and guidelines contained in the Student Code of Conduct

o        Language Objective: Students will write the expectations and guidelines contained in the Student Code of Conduct by using a guided worksheet

Today’s Homework: Due Monday 9/16

  • Read Chapter 5 (Ancient Greece)-Section 1-Cultures of the Mountain and  the Sea Pg. 121-123

Good afternoon guys here’s what we did in history today :

  • Pre-Test-World History Semester One-Pre-Test
  • Organizational Activity-Binder Set Up (w/ Five Tabs-Notes, Homework, Study Guides, SSR Logs, Misc)
  • Daily Objective-
  • Content Objective: SWD application of knowledge by classifying and describing their prior knowledge of World History through an exam
  • Language Objective: Students will write the information needed to demonstrate their prior knowledge of World History using a multiple choice exam
