Good afternoon! Today we began Chapter 14, which covers the “Formation of Western Europe”. For our lesson we began a two day series of guided notes covering Chapter 14-Section 1 “Church Reform and Crusades”. We also completed our vocabulary match up for Chapter 14 which will be the ten matching words on our quiz next Monday (11/25).

§         SWD analysis of key terms associated with the unit covering Chapter 14 through the manipulating of vocabulary terms in a collaborative activity

§         SWD analysis of the restructuring of the Catholic Church and the importance of Cathedrals in medieval Christian worship by categorizing  their roles and responsibilities through the use of  guided notes

o       Language Objective:

§         Students will read and orally match up important vocabulary terms pertaining to the unit covering Chapter 14 by using a vocabulary match-up activity

§         Students will read and write/record information regarding the restructuring of the Catholic Church and the importance of Cathedrals in medieval Christian worship by categorizing  their roles and responsibilities through the creation of student centered guided notes

 Good afternoon everyone! I want to apologize for the not updating the iBlog in the last two weeks. We have had some technical problems and I have also been trying to catch up on some class work so things have been hectic. Today we are taking our quiz on Chapter 13 Sections 3 and 4 and working on our guided tour for Chapter 14. We will be finishing Chapter 14 by Thanksgiving break and then there are only two more units to go this semester.

Here’s the break down of today:

o       Content Objective:

§         SWD evaluation of key terms and concepts associated with our unit covering Chapter 13 Sections 3 and 4 by demonstrating their knowledge thought the use of a unit quiz

§         SWD applications of the important political/historical figures, events and evidentiary text located in Chapter 14 through compiling information on a guided tour worksheet

o       Language Objective:

§         Students will read and write the answers in order match up important vocabulary terms pertaining to our unit covering Chapter 13 Sections 3 and 4 by completing a multiple choice and matching quiz.

§         Students will write answers to guided questions that require examination of the additional supporting resources/information located within Chapter 14 by completing a Guided Tour activity
