Day 2 of MEAP prep is in the books! Today we focused on several areas of review which included the purpose of the 2nd Continental Congress. We also spent time reviewing how to read a map and analyze historical works of art. Tomorrow we will continue our test prep!

    • Content Objective: SWD synthesis of their prior knowledge of U.S. History by composing and integrating new strategies designed to increase their performance on the MEAP through review and SIOP based activities
    • Language Objective: Students will read, write and orally discuss their understanding of U.S. History through the use of new review strategies and by using prior knowledge to  demonstrate their level of preparedness for the MEAP

Good Afternoon Everyone! This week we will be working with the students to get them ready for the 2013 Social Studies MEAP. We will be focusing on test taking strategies and U.S. History content review. Hopefully as a staff we will help provide the information and coaching each student needs in order to be successful on the MEAP.

Here’s how we preped today:

    • SSR-SSR Day 4-National Geographic Explorer  (January-February, 2012)
    • SSR Log-
    • Part 1.) One minute book talk-With your elbow partner each student will share their favorite fact/trivia/golden line from the magazine and explain why it stood out to you.
    • 1.) Write a short (one to two sentences) summary of what you told your elbow partner on your SSR Log sheet.
    • Thinking Maps-Introducing Brace Maps-World Religions and Their Core Beliefs
    • MEAP Review-MEAP Instructions/New World Explorers T2T Activity
    • Daily Objective-
