PBIS party Friday February 6th

Congratulations to all students who earned their invitation to our next PBIS party! 🙂 These students had less than 5 yellow cards for the month of January. Students have already chosen an activity in which they would like to participate. The choices were: free time on computer (VIPs only), yoga in the gym, valentines in the cafeteria or movie in a classroom. If your child chose watching a movie, please send a blanket or sleeping bag. If your child chose yoga, please send a towel and have your child wear comfortable clothes. Keep up the GREAT work boys and girls!

Valentines Day

Dear Families,

Students are welcome to bring valentine cards for the class on Friday, February 13th. I will send home a class list so that students can have the names prewritten on the cards. Participation is optional, but I encourage all to exchange. It is a fun time for the children! 🙂

Also, I will post a sign-up sheet for anyone who would like to donate a treat or snackt for our celebration. If you are unable to sign-up on the clipboard in the hallway and would like to donate, please send me an email and I can let you know of items that we need. Thank you and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Pennies for Pasta

Dear Families,

Our school will be taking part in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Pasta for Pennies, presented by the Olive Garden. During the program, students are encouraged to collect loose change and donate it to support LLS’s mission: to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. The class that donates the most will win a lunch at the Olive Garden. Second place will win a pizza party. Thank you.

Week of Jan. 26th-30th

We will begin our second round of NWEA testing soon. Our testing dates are: January 29th and February 12th. Students will be tested on reading, language, and math. It is important that your child gets a good night’s sleep the night before the test. Also, studies show that students score better when they’ve had a healthy breakfast and snack.

Report cards will be printed at Human Resources and sent home this week when they are ready.

Many students have not been completing and turning in homework and classroom assignments. This is effecting many students’ grades for the report card. It is every student’s responsibility to turn in completed homework on time. This includes filling in the Student Spelling Log, book report, and math homework every Monday-Thursday.
