2nd grade/ kindergarden project base learning activity
The week after break, we will begin focusing on communities. If anyone has a connection to a community worker such as a firefighter, dentist, baker etc. who is willing to talk to the kids about 10-15 minutes about their job, please let me know. We are looking for a variety of community helpers to present.
Kindergarten and Second Grade will be teaming up on a great project about our community! We are asking for pictures of your child at local businesses around the city. Feel free to take pictures at one, some, or all of the following locations!
Bakery Retail Store
Grocery Store Bank
Library Dentist
Police/Fire Station Doctor
Gas Station/Mechanic Barber Shop

Pictures can be printed and sent to school with your child, or you may email them to Ms. Stetz- stetzn@dearbornschools.org. Please submit any pictures you have taken no later than Monday, March 2nd.

PBIS party Friday February 6th
Congratulations to all students who earned their invitation to our next PBIS party! 🙂 These students had less than 5 yellow cards for the month of January. Students have already chosen an activity in which they would like to participate. The choices were: free time on computer (VIPs only), yoga in the gym, valentines in the cafeteria or movie in a classroom. If your child chose watching a movie, please send a blanket or sleeping bag. If your child chose yoga, please send a towel and have your child wear comfortable clothes. Keep up the GREAT work boys and girls!
Valentines Day
Dear Families,
Students are welcome to bring valentine cards for the class on Friday, February 13th. I will send home a class list so that students can have the names prewritten on the cards. Participation is optional, but I encourage all to exchange. It is a fun time for the children! 🙂
Also, I will post a sign-up sheet for anyone who would like to donate a treat or snackt for our celebration. If you are unable to sign-up on the clipboard in the hallway and would like to donate, please send me an email and I can let you know of items that we need. Thank you and Happy Valentine’s Day!
Pennies for Pasta
Dear Families,
Our school will be taking part in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Pasta for Pennies, presented by the Olive Garden. During the program, students are encouraged to collect loose change and donate it to support LLS’s mission: to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. The class that donates the most will win a lunch at the Olive Garden. Second place will win a pizza party. Thank you.
