Reading

We are learning about fiction and non-fiction stories with Reindeer. We will learn to identify beginning, middle and end of a fiction story. We will also listen to non-fiction text and identify the main idea with one detail.

Language Arts

We are learning about the letters Yy & Zz sight words: my, he.   We are also learning about medial sounds of a cvc word focusing on short o, e.

Writing

We will continue to discuss descriptive informational writing. We will be writing all about reindeer. The sentence stem used: A reindeer is a mammal. It has __. It can __.

Math

We are learning measurement. We will review weights of objects using a pan balance. We will discuss volume and capacity. We will discuss more than and less than.

Social Studies

We will be investigating  between trade and exchange.
