Haigh Community, In an effort to help us prepare for any contingencies regarding the Coronavirus, please take a moment to complete the following survey regarding your access to technology at home. This is a school wide survey so we are asking that families with multiple students enrolled only provide the name of their oldest child on this survey. These results are confidential to the school and will be shared with the necessary classroom and resource teachers and administrators only. Please complete this survey as early as possible. Thank you.

Art activities for Young 5s and Kindergarten students will be posted on Mrs. Buenting’s blog starting tomorrow, March 16. At the top of her blog page is a tab labeled Kindergarten, this is where you will find activities, videos, and web links. Please, visit her blog weekly over the next three weeks for activities that can be done with minimum supplies yet keep creative minds working! https://iblog.dearbornschools.org/buenting/
Hello Parents! Attached on this blog are online learning resources to complete with your child at home during our time off. Please read in it’s entirety and if you have any questions I will be happy to help. In addition to this learning, you can also view my link (on my blog) labeled “Educational Websites” to further assist in your child’s educational journey online:) I will also post some fun activities on SeeSaw to see how your child is doing:) At the end of this blog, it will explain what is to be turned in on April 13th (reading log and writing responses). I hope all my families and students stay healthy and well during the next 4 weeks. I will miss all of you and can’t wait to see you back on April 13th. Take care<3 Love, Mrs. Fillmore
Spelling test and lists will be pushed back and will resume in April when we return. In the meantime, please continue working on sight words. We have attached the sight word lists for Kindergarten that need to be mastered before the end of the year.
An easy way to practice these words is by writing out flash cards. We recommend you try the 6:4 method (6 words they know and 4 words they do not know) when reviewing. Practice the set of 10 words until they have mastered words and then bring in new words 4 new words and removed 4 they have mastered.
Sight Word Lists ** They need to know these by the end of Kindergarten! (Young 5, focus on the pre-primer list to prepare them for Kinder!)
Reading
Please use Raz-Kids and reading eggs to work with your child on maintaining and improving their reading skills. I will be monitoring the online programming from home, please email if you have any questions. Students should listen to the book, read the book, and take the quiz for each book before moving on to the next story or book. My recommendation would be at least 3 books a day (following the listen, read, and quiz pattern) and 20-30 minutes on reading eggs.
Please continue to do the fun activities on the March is Reading Month Log. Don’t forget to log your minutes!
Writing
Attached is a template to use each day- 15 total. Students should pick a topic of their choice and write at least 3 complete sentences (Kindergarten) to match the picture they draw.
Here are the math lessons that should be completed in your child’s Eureka Math Succeed Book.
Week of March 16th: Module 4 Lessons 31-36
Week of March 23rd: Module 4 Lessons 37-40
Week of March 30th: Module 5 Lessons 1-6
