STEM Week

This week, classes took part in a STEM challenge.  STEM stand for Scienc, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Students in 5th grade had to create an experiment to test which column would hold the most weight~~a cylindrical column, a rectangular column, or a triangular column.

  Students tested their hypotheses in groups.  

    

  
2nd and 3rd grade classes worked collaboratively to build a tin foil boat.  We tested them to see how many grams each boat would hold.  One boat held 700 grams!
