Dear Students,

I would like to start by thanking many students for their hard work and flexibility to adjust to this new situation. I shared the key answers for the assignment for March 16 on Google classroom. Please open the documents and compare you answers to the correct ones. Learn from your mistakes.

I read many, many documents that you submitted. I also gave so many feedbacks. Some of you are not paying attention to directions in the assignment, and keep repeating the same questions.

Some students did not turn in their work on time. I am not accepting late assignments. Try to organize your day and not wait to the last minute to be done.

Have a safe weekend,

So proud of you!

Greetings dear students,

If students have issues connecting their Chromebooks, please have them do this:

  1. Turn off the Chromebook (holding the power button is okay)
  2. Turn the Chromebook back on.
  3. Connect to your home WiFi.
  4. You should see a screen that says “Sign in to your Chromebook”. Leave the Chromebook on this screen for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Restart the Chromebook again.

I hope you are well and safe. Please feel free to start sharing with me any finished assignments so I can give you some feedback. I am checking emails regularly during school hours.

Tuesday, March 17

Good morning students,

Many of you are communicating with me and you are doing well. Now notice that when you asked questions in the evening, like 9:20 or 10:35, I will not be able to respond until morning. Please keep the communication via email.

I have added the pages of the science lesson to Google classroom. The questions are based on the video. The science book is extra.

Make sure you show up at 10:30 today at the school’s cafeteria to check out a Chromebook if you do not have one at home. Your parent need an ID and your own school number. Distribution will be at 10:30-12:00 only.

Stay well and safe,

Mr. Moukalled

Assignments for the week of March 14-20

Dear parents and students,

I organized all the assignments for my students on Google Classroom. When the students log in, they should type this code: 5iaovrv and look for Independent Practice

All assignment are due by Friday noon or earlier. Please share with me some of the answers on one document to make it easy to check all subjects.

I will be making phone calls to touch base with my students and do my best to help them retain what has been taught. Please know that none of what I planned for them is new. It is a review of previously taught lessons. Therefore, your child should work independently on assignments.

I appreciate your support and understanding during these testing times for all of us.

Be well and stay safe!

Lina Moukalled

Dear Miller 5th grade parents,

Please make sure to check our iBlogs every Monday as we will be posting assignments for the week. Many of the assignments will be on Google Classroom or through a link from our iBlogs. Students can submit assigned writing on Google Classroom or via Google Documents. Please make sure they share them with the teacher.

No new lessons will be assigned, however, many lessons will be reviewed to maintain achieved progress. We will be focusing on:

  • iReady online resource for math and reading – we will post clear instructions for the students to follow.
  • Social Studies and Science will be posted on either iBlog or Google Classroom

Since we are working from home, we will do our best to answer questions in a timely manner.

Stay safe!

Lina Moukalled
