Hi Everyone!

I am hoping you are having a great weekend. The weather cannot be any better!

I decided to do our week at a glance calendar on a different calendar format. I figured this way you can use this calendar as a checklist- print it and hang it on the fridge! Whatever works! This is easier to read than my other one, but has less links. You will find all of the links daily on my blog and on Google Classroom.

Here is a look at our upcoming week:

If you want it in black and white to save colored ink, here it is:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZJarRwIFolcoEYqhfue22BQYbX6tXjwCSITYWYKgnEo/edit?usp=sharing

I decided to not do Readworks this week and do another Reading Mystery since we loved that so much before!!
Only other change- I am going to read Wonder this week, but not require students to do questions and turn them in. I would rather you focus on reading group assignments and your reading mystery assignment!

Still not Google Hangouts/Meets as far as I know.

There is a possibility also this week that parents can pick up Module 5 math books- I will keep you updated on when and what times.

Please look over the calendar and I will post directions on Monday!

Hi Parents,

In the next couple hours, I will be sending a weekly progress report to you through email or remind. It will tell you what your child has completed this week and what is still missing.

Please note: I will not send you a progress report if your child has completed all the work for the week and has nothing missing so far. I just want you to refer to the Guardian Summaries on Google Classroom to look at everything they have done.

I figured it is easier to understand that if you get no progress report, that means they are all set. However, if you do feel like you want a progress report- just tell me and I would be happy to send one! It is just a list of what is turned in for the week, kind of like a checklist.

I will be sending them out today! Reach out to me with questions if you have any:) Enjoy your weekend!! The weather is going to be beautiful!

I can’t believe it is May! Here is a look at today:

-We have no new assignments today except for math, so I am going to post the math assignment and then make a list of all things due for today!

Math

-There is no new math lesson to do. I wanted to give a check math “quiz” today to see what you remember so far with fractions. It will be a Google Form that I post today on Google Classroom.
-There will also be some “at home” activities I am going to post that relate to fractions. Pick one or make up your own this weekend.
Game 1: Tangram Challenge
A lot of people have been painting tangrams on their windows or front doors. Who what have thought we can relate these to fractions! You can do a tangram in your house or just use the one on the sheet attached. It is a little confusing at first, that is why I want families to work together on it, but this is such a cool idea!

Game 2: Find the Fraction Model
This game is like memory match! You can even challenge yourself and set a timer and see if you can beat family members!

Game 3: Terrific Tar Heels
You can verse someone in your house and practice coloring fractions. The goal of the game is to completely color in your letter T and you win!

Pick one of these or do your own, send me a picture or email of it. The math quiz and game are due by Sunday.

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope everyone read the Sunday “Week at a Glance.” post to help organize the week!

Here is a look at today:

-There is still no list again this week! We are going to be focusing on capitalization! It is great to review in general, but as I get work back, it is especially important to go over at this time with everything being on the computer!
Assignment:

https://www.brainpop.com/english/grammar/capitalization/

*Many students did not finish their reasons and details yet about this topic** That is due today!
Assignment:

Having a chance to turn math into a game or make connections at home with family will hopefully keep the engagement going!

Key Points:
* I have office hours if you want to personally call or contact me
* Make sure to TURN IN all assignments moving forward
* No Google Meets until something is decided within the district

Stay Safe!
-Mrs. Hull

Hi Everyone!

I am posting the calendar today if you want to check out what we have going on this week!
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tPOtyK2pi7E5GsqeA0-oJLMtmIcbI1c0H6Bm5V7FFm8/edit?usp=sharing

  • Do not worry about old missing assignments that you might have had on the Guardian Summary from weeks ago. Let’s just move forward fresh this week and see how it goes!
  • There will be no Google Hangouts this week. I will record everything instead. I will still read Wonder- it will just be recorded now!
  • I am available to answer back throughout the work day Monday-Friday 8:00-3:45. However, if you want to meet with me specifically or need individual help I have office hours on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-4:00. We can schedule a time where I can call you if need be- just reach out to me to set a time!

Looking forward to another great week!

Hi Parents!

Quick message- I am noticing a lot of you are now getting the Guardian Summaries on Friday and are concerned when it says there are missing assignments.

If you do not hit the turn in button on Google Classroom- it will show up as missing, even if you did it and sent it to me. I am trying to resolve this issue on my end.

For the meantime, just try and hit turn in on assignments moving forward. Do not go back and try to click turn in on all missing notifications. Do not worry about those- let’s just start fresh this week moving forward.

What I did because of this issue is that I sent you a seperate email with a report if your child was missing any assignments this week. If you did not get a seperate email from me- you are all set! (I am trying to limit how many emails I am sending out because I know you are getting a ton!)

Hopefully this runs smoother as we become more familiar. My main goal is not to overwhelm or stress families out! All of you are doing a great job and you get all of your work in- Please just reach out to me if you are concerned or want to know if something is missing and I will answer. Thank you for your patience!

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your family are safe and healthy. Today we completed the first week of our new Continuity plan guidelines and I am seeking your feedback. Below is a short survey to help us better understand the needs of the community as a whole. The collected results will allow us to make some well-informed decisions moving forward. It is anonymous and greatly appreciated.
