Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone!

There is no new assignments today. 🙂 However, writing is going to be something that is worked on all week, so I wanted to continue with examples of what should be done next!

Writing

So far you should have two branches of government picked out that you want to compare and contrast. Once you have read the articles and picked two, your next step is to fill out the Venn Diagram.
Venn Diagram– You should have at least 3 differences and 3 similarities in the circles. Use the video, articles, and the Internet to search!
Blueprint- Next, you write the top three similarities you found about your two branches and write them on the similarities box on the blueprint. You write three differences in the differences box too. Don’t forget to leave spaces for evidence!
**The evidence for similarities and differences seems to be the most challenging part so far based on feedback from students**
I will post a video modeling how to find the evidence and upload it today on the blog, so keep a look out if you need help!
Keep in mind:
– Evidence is from the article and it supports your similarities and differences.
– Evidence starts with a transition phrase like According to the text…
– You have examples of evidence from our two previous blueprints we did together in your folder (if you picked it up from school)

Assignment for Writing Today:
Today, you need to write your introduction on your blueprint. Remember it should be 3-4 sentences long and start with a question hook or a fact hook. Below I am attaching all of the hooks we came up with as a class for our last topic. Use these to help you make your own!!
