Remember when you were young and you just had to have a copy of the book your teacher was reading in class? Your teacher “blessed” that book and made it special. I think of this as the gift of reading and have been excited about sharing this with our students at Henry Ford.
In each hallway you will find my version of a “book blessing” and the purpose is to boost excitement about reading. Each hallway has a small table with one of my favorite books and a brief description. I’ve tried to add a personal connection or reason why I consider it a favorite as well.
Please share these books with your students as you pass by and feel free to borrow the book for a read aloud. I do ask that you please limit the time you borrow the book as others will want to share them with their students too.
I will update the books every 2 weeks to keep things fresh. After books are rotated, you can find them in room 206 for your teaching purposes.
