We are off to a great start to the week!

Hello Families!

Take a look at the incredible start we had to week 15!

We are learning about plants being living things and having needs to survive!
We practiced writing the letter Mm and saying words that begin with the letter Mm’s sound.
We stretched for sounds and illustrated the 4 needs of a plant. Plants need soil, water, light, and air.
I introduced the children to the concepts of heavier and lighter as well as a measurement tool called a balance scale. Look below as to how to make a balance scale at home.
To make a balance scale at home you need a dish, play dough, a can, and a rectangular box lid with a lip around it. Use the play dough to secure the can to the dish.

Thank you for all you do! 9 days until Christmas Break!

Hello Families!

I have emailed and whatsapped, and posted on Schoology the link and time for the parent meeting today. This will only be a 20 minute meeting. I will be going over some new things!

Today is also Giving Tuesday! Please find time to help your child give of their old clothes or shoes to help those in need. There is a clothing drop-off box in the parking lot at Oakman School. There is a clothing drop off box by the big playground. Another way to give is to make something special, a baked good, or a card….and put it on the porch of a neighbor or take it to your local fire station or police station… One more way to give….. is our time!!! Time is so precious and literally seems to fly by!!! Spend time with those you love……without screens and without phones! Read a story, sing a song together, or simply dance! Giving your time is a great way to build lasting memories your children will cherish in their hearts and minds for years to come.

Take a look at what we did today!

We traced our hands and used cubes to measure how tall each finger is. We then circled the finger that is the shortest.
We practiced handwriting uppercase and lowercase Ee.
We completed a RAN chart and did informational writing about Polar Bears!
We learned….Polar Bears are good swimmers!
We practiced finding the front, back, and spine of a book we have at home!
We are learning to tell facts about a topic!

Happy World Kindness Day!!!

Hello Families!

Today is World Kindness Day!!! Please talk to your children about the power of kindness! Kindness is contagious! When we treat other people with the kindness that we would want to be treated with we find ourselves in a much happier and peaceful place! We are bucket fillers, right? So let’s continue the kindness that we already show and turn it up a notch as we reach out to those around us with extra kindness.

This weekend please do some acts of kindness! If you would like to keep your acts of kindness a secret, or share them that is up to you! But, maybe you can help your child draw a picture of themselves showing how they felt when they showed kindness!
