We want to learn our phone numbers and addresses!

Posted on

Hello Families!

We had such a great day back to school yesterday! So, before break, Officer Aaron gave the students a challenge! The challenge is to learn their phone number and/or address. Yesterday, he visited to see who learned their phone number or address. Two children did! However, he will be returning at the end of the week to see if there are any more students who learned their phone number or address. It is such a good idea to teach your child your phone number and address. If they are ever in a situation where they or someone needs to contact you, your child would know how to do so. Please help your child with these skills. Check their folders tonight for a paper phone to practice. Friday morning, I will see who knows their address and/or phone number. Officer Aaron has a prize for each student who accepts the challenge.

Thank you for all you do!

Don’t forget, Thursday is Math Night at 5:00!!!

Thank you for the challenge, Officer Aaron!

Social Studies:  We will continue a unit called “Where am I”. We will review position words such as up, down in, out, beside, in between. We are also working with a program called Second Step. Hello Families!

Today, Officer Aaron Morandini from the Dearborn Police Department, visited our classroom! He read us a book all about police officer. He also gave the students a challenge! He said whoever can learn their parent’s phone number or their home address will get a special police officer sticker…and…a chance to pick from the treasure chest! SO….please help your child learn your phone number and their address. This is actually very important for their safety should they get lost or need to contact you for whatever reason. I hope and pray they never get lost or have an emergency, but knowing their address and phone number would be so very helpful in a stressful situation. Thank you for your help with this. Officer Aaron also talked about the importance of wearing a seatbelt. All of the children in my class are supposed to be sitting in car seats. This is the optimal way to keep them safe in a car. Seat belts are never an option. They should be worn even if you are driving a short distance.

Please make plans on attending BINGO for BOOKS on Monday at 4:15-5:15!!! This is a free and fun event for the entire family! Your child will be get books to take home too!

Parent Teacher conferences are on Thursday! I have contacted the families I want to meet with. If you did not get an appointment with me but wnat to meet, please see me.

Thank you for all you do…and Happy First Day Of Spring!!!
