Hello Families!

We are having such a great week! We have been practicing writing our names, following directions, counting, and so much more!

Take a look at the pictures of how we have been learning and enjoying our week!

Children practicing how to use glue as they follow directions on their project.
Child using the interactive board and pen to connect pictures that are the same during math.
We have been learning about the different types of feelings we can have.
The children played a partner match game with feeling cards!
Children checking out their first book from Oakman Library!
Children playing dress up and pretend play at the dramatic play center.
We listened to the story of The Little Red Hen. The children identified the characters in the story.
Children are coloring and cutting and gluing the pictures of the characters who told the Red Hen “Not I!” when she asked for help.
Children playing with cars and trucks together.
Children playing with Potato Heads.
Children playing with legos.
Children practicing number fluency with quantities up to 5.
Here is an online version similar to the story we read today! Ask your child to identify the characters and tell you how this story ended differently than the one we read aloud. (Hint: The Red Hen did not share the bread in the story we read together. 🙂 )
This is a video about teaching what is the same and different and how to put on detective glasses to notice differences in things that are alike.

Your child brought home a book in their back pack today from the used book sale at Oakman. This is a special book they can keep at home that they picked out from the sale. The books in the reading bag from our classroom come back to school inside the reading bag everyday!

Thank you for all you do!

Hello Families!

I bet your children came home pretty tired today! 🙂 We had a fun and busy day at school!!!

Your children brought home their reading bags today! PLEASE make sure the bag and all that is inside the bag comes back to school everyday!

Please send time reading to your child. The bag has books in it that they will enjoy. They each got to pick a book to put inside the bag too.

In addition to the books, please help your child use the dry erase marker and the name writing sheet to practice writing their name.

We had some friends come to school without backpacks and snack. If your child needs a backpack, please see me to let me know.

Check out the cuties at work in the pictures below!

Hello Families!

Tomorrow, (Tuesday) is our first full day of school! I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend spending time with loved ones and relaxing. I know I did! 🙂

We will continue to get to know each other and the routines of school!

We will be talking about rules and how rules keep us safe and help us learn.

We will be learning about the three ways to read a book as we focus on reading the pictures. This helps your child develop a love for books and love for reading.

We will also have all of our special areas such as physical education, music, art, and science enrichment. (There is a schedule on the top of the blog “Specials Schedule” )

In addition, we will visit the library this week and pick out a book for our book boxes!

We will be having so much fun as we learn and play together!

I am so excited for all of what this week holds for us!

I am looking forward to seeing my beautiful little students in the morning!

School is 8:30-3:35. Pick up will be outside on the small playground by door 4.

Reading bags will be sent home tomorrow as well!
