Field Trip Permission Slip and Money is Due Tomorrow!

Hello Families!

Tomorrow, Monday, is the due date to turn in yours and your child’s permission slip and money for the field trip! This is going to be such a great experience for all of us! I am so excited that you will be with us for our fun day at the farm!

If there is are any concerns, please never hesitate to call me, email me, or come see me! We are a team!

I hope you all enjoyed this amazing fall weather! Days like this… are some of my favorite characteristics of our beautiful state!

Here is the book we read last week! The children did a writing response to the story. We will retell the story tomorrow using pictures!

Young 5 Parent Meeting Tomorrow!!!

Hello Families!

Tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 3rd is a parent meeting in our classroom! It is very important that you or another adult attend the meeting for your child. The meeting is at 2:30 in room 106! Please sign in at the office when you arrive.

***You will be learning how to access the online program called Reading Eggs. You will also be receiving a fun hands on name game to play with your child! In addition, you will not only be entered into a drawing for a $5.00 gift card for attending, but you will hear some beneficial information and get to play a game with your child in their classroom!

Tomorrow is Ride Your Bike to School or Walk to School and….look what else…

Hello Families!

Tomorrow our Ecology Club is sponsoring Ride Your Bike or Walk to School Day! If it rains, we will reschedule for Thursday!

Tomorrow, lets support our Awesome Robotics Team and buy some baked goods!!!

Thursday at 2:30 is our parent meeting. Please send an adult in your place if you cannot make it.

Please send in the permission slip and money for you and your child for the field trip by Oct. 7th.

Parent Meeting on Thursday!

Hello Families!

This Thursday we will have our first Parent Meeting!! Please make plans to join us at 2:30 that day! You will be getting access for your child to use Reading Eggs online program at home!

*Your child is bringing home the permission slip for the field trip today! Please be sure to check their folders.

Also, your child is bringing home new books in their reading bags. Please be sure these books come to school with the reading bag everyday!

A Look Ahead….

Hello Families!

I hope you all have enjoyed this beautiful fall weekend….I know there was lots of rain, but it was still a lovely fall weekend! 🙂

Tomorrow, your child will be bringing home the permission slip for the Real Life Farm Field Trip. The goal is for each student to have an adult with them. SO….please have the adult that will be attending on the field trip visit the office THIS WEEK with their picture identification to fill out the background check. This form takes a couple of weeks to get processed.

Our First Field Trip!!!

Hello Families!

We will be going on our first field trip to the Real Life Farm in Canton on Wednesday, October 16th! This is such a great experience for the kids!!!

I am requesting that each child have an adult attend with them. Please see me if this is an issue.

The cost for each person attending is $15.00. We will bring a packed lunch as well to eat at the farm.

Your child will get to milk a cow, feed baby animals, hold baby animals, and…ride a horse!!!

I will send home permission slips on Monday! The money and permission slips will be due on October 7th!

Please be sure to bring a photo ID to the office next week to get your background check completed if you have not done so already.

Look What We Have Been Doing

Hello Families!

Look what we have been doing in Young 5s!

Sorry this is sideways, but the children built a house after learning about different homes and different ways families can be.
We did science in the gym! We practiced non-standard measurement as we measured the length of our friends with blocks.

We are practicing subitizing as well as recognizing and making quantities up to 5 using s 5 frame!
After brainstorming a list of things that begin with the letter A’s sound, we used playdough to sculpt things that begin with the letter A. This friend made an airplane!

We practiced recognizing an array of 4 today!
We also drew our model of the array of 4 as well as what 4 looks like in a line.

We had a Marvelous Monday!

Hello Families!

Happy 1st Day of Fall!!! It was a beautiful day!!!

We have been so busy this month! We have learned the letters Mm, Ss, and Aa. Today we learned the sight word see. We practiced word by word reading with patterned sentences of “I see a …” The children also learned about families and how families can come in all different sizes and make up. We also talked about what we like to do with our families at home.

We have been working on adding details to our writing with drawings of people that look like the characters we are writing about. In addition, we are working on writing our names!

In math we have been working on numbers 1-5 and their quantities!

Daily 5 is also going well! The children have progressed into now using Work on Writing notebooks!!! We are so excited!

Wednesday is a late start! School will start at 9:30! Friday is a no school day for Kindergarten and Young 5s! Teachers will be in an all day meeting!
