Thankful for Thursday!

Hello Families!

I am thankful for the incredible work and stamina the children displayed today on Zoom! We did a lot of learning, (and had tons of fun)! I am also thankful for spending time with my son, Ryan last night while playing a game.):) What are you thankful for?

Take a look at some of the awesome things we did today!

We listened to the Dr. Seuss story, What Pet Should I Get. We drew and wrote to tell about our opinions of what pet we would get if we could have any pet in the whole wide world.
This friend said she would like to choose a dog for a pet.
What Pet Should I Get? By Dr. Seuss
we did a shared writing activity after reading our Benchmark story, Where is Dan?.
We practiced touching the words as we read along together for the Benchmark story, Where is Dan?.
We went on a hunt for rhyming pairs in our houses. This friend said star rhymes with car.
We learned more about ending marks in writing sentences. We practiced writing a sentence that tells what we like! This friend wrote that she likes bananas!!!
We used drawings and numbers bonds to answer a question about decomposing a group of 9 pennies into 2 pockets!
We also used drawings and a number sentence to answer….how many basketballs were not colored orange out of a group of 9. (3 were colored orange)
We mixed and fixed the sight word big when we cut apart the letters to build the word and read it.
We went on a virtual field trip to the airport!!!! We drew the aircrafts we learned about. We have two friends who will be flying back to United States in the next few weeks on big airplanes! 🙂
This friend drew one of the airplanes from our virtual field trip!
Please remember, we are learning and Zooming from home tomorrow!! I will see your smiling faces on Zoom at 8:30! 🙂

Thank you for all you do!!!

Love, Ms. Mehrhof
