Hello Families!
We have been learning about how to draw and dictate a narrative story. The children are even starting to use inventive spelling and letter strings as they emerge as writers!!!
After our fin day at the farm yesterday, what better topic to write about than the time we spent at Real Life Farm!
So, the children colored, cut and glue pictures in order to tell the story of their day at the farm! They can use the pictures to dictate a personal narrative with characters, setting, and story sequence of a beginning, middle, and end. This is so exciting!
We also learned the letters Pp (says /p/ like at the beginning of pumpkin pie) and Gg (says /g/ like at the beginning of goat).
The sight words we have been practicing this week are like, and, and go!
The children are making so much progress in their letter identification and writing their names! In fact, next Friday….7 days from tomorrow we will have our first name writing test! You can help your child with this by practicing writing their first name with them each night! If your child has mastered writing their first name, please move on to the last name.

Thank you for all you do!
