What we have been doing!!!

Hello Families!

Your little Oakman Lions have been learning and doing so much! I cannot believe that the week is almost over! It’s going by so fast! Thank you to everyone who allowed your child to participate in Walk to School/Ride to School Day! We had many of our Oakman students help the environment by taking action with this event!!!! Thank you to all of you who collected addresses for the fundraiser!

Take a look at the pictures and captions to see what we have been up to! We have also been working on telling stories through our writing. Our narrative writing is posted outside of our room. It is titled, “My New Toy”. We are working on another narrative writing piece that will be a collaborative classroom book called, “I Dreamed I was a Little Bat…” We have also learned the following letters; Aa, Ii, Oo, Mm, Dd, Tt, Gg, Kk. We have learned the following sight words; I, a, go, see.

We have been practicing the listening rules in social studies; Eyes are watching, ears are listening, voices quiet, body calm. In addition, we are learning about the 5 senses!!! See, Hear, Smell, Taste, Touch.

We practiced counting objects that are scattered. We practiced where to begin and where to stop as we counted each object and touched each object as we said the consecutive numbers.
