Hello Families!
This week we have learned ways to make 5 using unifix cubes and five frames. We have learned the letters Gg and Aa. We practiced identifying our five senses! We also retold the story of Apple Trouble using the pictures! In addition, we created 2D shape animals after reading Color Zoo by Lois Elhert! Let’s not forget the word the….we practiced reading and finding the word the in sentences. And….we wrote two narrative writing pieces. We have had a fun week exploring, learning, and having a great time at school with each other.
Please review with your child the importance of sneezing and coughing into our elbows. We are practicing this to avoid spreading germs.
Homework: Tonight your child is bringing home homework in their reading bag and their folder. In their reading bag is a yellow sight word/reading practice for the word the. Please help your child identify the word the. In addition, please encourage your child to use their reading finger to touch each word as they read. In the folder, they have a cutting practice sheet for the letter. They are to cut out the letters and then sort them by Aa, Gg, and Dd. Play a memory game with them by turning the letters over and finding upper and lowercase matches. They are also bringing home a writing paper for the sight word the. These homework assignments are not meant to be done in one night. Please spend about 20 minutes each night on homework with your child. Thank you!
There is no school tomorrow! Kindergarten and Young 5 teachers have a meeting tomorrow.
