What we did today!

Hello Families!

It was a great start to the week! Here are some of the great things we did today!

Today we practiced blending the onset (beginning sound) with the rime for -ot family words. Please practice this at home and see how many -ot family words your child can write and read. (ex. rot, dot, cot, blot)

We also took an addition computation test in addition for math. 🙂

Writer’s Workshop as awesome!!! The chidlren completed an opinion writing piece about their favorite Dr. Seuss book! They wrote using the sentence stem, “My favorite Dr. Seuss book is ____________ because ____________. The illustrations were adorable!

We reviewed maps and globes today and practiced finding places on a map using what we know about beginning sounds.

Homework is in your child’s folder. Some children have addition homework and some have counting by ten’s homework. Homework is due tomorrow.

Please be sure your child returns the signed permission slip for the zoo field trip along with the money no later than April 12th. These were sent home on Friday!

In addition to the math homework, please remember that is an expectation that 20 additional minutes are spent each night on the following:

Math bags

Reading bags

Writing two sentences using the sight words from our spelling list

MobyMax

MyOn

Thank you for all you do! Have a terrific night!
