Wonderful Wednesday!

Hello Families!

We have enjoyed a wonderful Wednesday of virtual learning! Take a look at some of the awesome things we did today!

In honor of Women’s History Month, I listened to story about the remarkable Helen Keller! We discussed what it means to be blind We also learned that despite being blind, she wrote many books!!! To build empathy for those who are blind, I asked the children to write their names with their eyes closed to experience what they experience!
We explained our engineered buildings! This friend told us he built a castle with pillows.
During engineering time, this friend built a castle too, but with cups!
During math, we practiced subtraction pretending our cubes are dinosaurs going to the watering hole. We drew the watering hole too as we acted out the scenario.
We did narrative writing to tell about a time when we were mad in response to Mercer Meyer’s book, I Was So Mad.
This friend wrote and told us that she was so mad when she had to leave her friend’s house.
We went looking for 3D shapes in our houses. This friend found a cylinder (soup can).
We created a number path as we learned to play the math game “One More”. The students rolled their dice, but their game piece on the number they rolled nd then moved it up one to tell what one more would be from the number they rolled!
We practiced writing our numbers!
Please remember, we are Zooming all together from home tomorrow, and Friday!!! See you in the morning!!!!

Thank you for all you do!

Ms. Mehrhof
