Fabulous Friday in Young 5s!

Hello Families!

We had a fabulous Friday and a fantastic week!

Take a look at some of the fun learning that took place today! We also read a Benchmark story and identified that the setting of the story was outer space! We practiced counting syllables of items we found in the kitchen as well as identifying their beginning sounds. In addition, we blended sounds that after substituting phonemes in the word!

We practiced recognizing the difference between the graphemes b and d. It is developmental for young children to see letters and reverse them such as in the case of the b and d. However, practice and exposure to writing and creating the letters as we did here with play dough is a great way to help us learn!

We drew a train with 2D shapes and practiced decomposing a group of 7 train cars using a number sentence and 2 different colored crayons!
