Hello Families!

I hope you all have enjoyed this snowy day! It is so beautiful to see the white snow falling outside the window! The children and I have had some fun with snowmen and….. SANTA and MRS. CLAUS! They came to my house to visit us on Zoom! What a surprise!!! Your children are so special, they came all they way from the North Pole!

Tomorrow is Pajama Day!!! Your child can wear their pajamas on Zoom!!!

Today was Dress Like a Snowman Day!
We used snow from outside to make our own snowmen!!!
We were creative with what to use for eyes and nose!
This friend used birthday cake candles for her snowman’s arms.
This friend used a pencil for the snowman’s nose!
This friend used straws for the snowman’s arms!

This friend used crayons for their snowman’s body parts.
I introduced the children to the math concept of area! Area is the space inside of a shape. We drew a rectangle and found the area of our rectangle using cubes for the units.
We stretched the word snowman to write all of the sounds that we hear. We also clapped the syllables for snowman!! Snowman has 2 syllables!
We are really enjoying Reading Eggs!

We had a very special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!!! Thank you, Mrs. Peterson for joining us!!

We counted to 100 with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
Santa read “The Night Before Christmas” by Clement Clark Moore
Santa brought his beautiful wife, Mrs. Claus!
We asked Santa questions and sang songs together!
Merry Christmas to all!!!

Thank you for all you do!!!

See you in the morning for Pajama Day!!

Love, Ms. Mehrhof
