Week of February 26th

Hello Families! Happy 23rd week of Young 5s! I hope you all enjoyed the Mid-Winter Break! I am excited for the great things we will be doing this week at school!

*100th Day of School is on Thursday!  I seriously cannot believe it is the 100th of school on Thursday already! Time is zooming by for sure! I am encouraging all of the children to dress up as if they are 100 years old! Have fun and be creative with this! : ) (ex. gray hair, mustache, dress in an outfit that a 100 year old person might wear.)

March 1st is also the kickoff to MARCH IS READING MONTH!!! There will be much more information on these activities to come!

Science: We will begin a new science unit about Ecosystems. We will first discuss what living and non-living means as we talk about living things need.

Social Studies:  We will continue a unit called “Who am I?”. We will continue to talk about ways we measure time in terms of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. We are also working with a program called Second Step. This program helps us learn about rules, social skills, and how to handle our emotions. We have been focusing on what to do when we have a strong feeling. We practiced identifying the feeling, talking about it, and taking belly breaths.
