Hello Families!
Before I tell you about all of the awesome things we have been learning and doing, please remember, we have a HALF DAY tomorrow. Dismissal is at 11:45. Please send a healthy snack to school for your child. We will have snack at 11:00 since they are used to eating lunch at 11:15. (They will be hungry! :))
We have been learning about 2D shapes. Each day we created circle maps for the shape of the day as a review of the facts for that shape. Then we used items to trace and create illustrations featuring that shape. We did this for square, triangle, circle, and rectangle. We are making a 2D shapes book!

We are learning about different types of hazardous weather. We identified facts and asked and answered questions about blizzards, floods, and hurricanes. Today we used 2D shapes to create a 3D house from a recycled milk carton to use during our performance task tomorrow. We will be working together to create a way to keep these houses safe from a flood.

Next week is our field trip on Wednesday! We are so excited!!! I am encouraging the children to dress up in their favorite clothes! If there is snow on the ground, please send your child to school in boots that day. If not, dress shoes on Wednesday will be fine! 🙂 We will eat lunch at the school after the show!
