Welcome to my website! My name is Nicole Filas. I am currently the SXI Middle/High school teacher for Howe Montessori School in the Center-based program. I am 33 years old but look like I am 16. Don’t let my looks fool you!
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. I completed most of my Graduate degree at University of Arizona as well. Then, as the family person I am, I moved back to Michigan. I completed my Teaching certificate in Special Education – Cognitive Impairment as well as School Health Education. I am also working towards finishing my Master’s degree in Special Education.
Now, a little about myself! I am a very active person. I like to keep busy. You will rarely catch me sitting down. I have two dogs; Cujo, and Princess. These dogs have my heart. I love to take the dogs for walks. Hopefully, they don’t see a squirrel because I would be in trouble! All of my dogs are considered large. So, it is a task to walk them. My other interests are basketball, swimming, shopping, traveling, and to read. My favorite season is fall; its not too hot but not too cold. I also love fall because of the beautiful nature and the changing of the leaves. Not too mention, a glass of hot apple cider and a donut.
I have two more beautiful additions to the Filas Family. I have twins; Lacy and Liam. They are my world!
