Hello everyone!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Mrs. Nicole Filas. I am currently the SXI Middle/High School Teacher for Howe Montessori School in the Center-based program.  This is my 10th year teaching at Howe School!!  I love my students, just like one of my own!

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. I completed most of my Graduate degree at University of Arizona. As the family person I am, I moved back to Michigan. I completed my Teaching certificate in Special Education – Cognitive Impairment as well as School Health Education. I am also working towards finishing my Master’s degree in Special Education.

Now, a little about myself! I am a very active person. I like to keep busy. You will rarely catch me sitting down.  Well, having twins doesn’t allow for much free time.   Liam and Lacy are my world!  My children are always attached to my side.  I am a very family oriented person.  I have an old English bulldog. His name is Taco!  My favorite color is pink and blue!  My other interests are basketball, swimming, shopping, and traveling.  My favorite season is fall because of the beautiful nature and the changing of the leaves. Not too mention, a glass of hot apple cider and a donut.
