Read pages 115-126.

The Tin Woodman helped save the Queen of the field mice, and then the field mice helped save the lion. Talk about a time when you help someone and then they helped you in return.

Day 8-Chapter 8-The Deadly Poppy Field

Read pages 101-114.

Plant some poppies in your garden or in a flowerpot for your front step.

Day 7-Chapter 7-The Journey to the Great Oz

Read pages 87-99.

Pretend you are a Kalidah. How would they move? What sounds would they make?

Day 6-Chapter 6-The Cowardly Lion

Read pages 75-86.

Roar like a ferocious lion!

Day 5-Chapter 5-The Rescue of the Tin Woodman

Read pages 61-73.

The Tin Woodman wishes for a heart. Make a heart for him! You can do this out of whatever you want – clay, paper, cloth papier-mache, etc.

Day 4-Chapter 4-The Road Through the Forest

Read pages 49-59.

Paint a scarecrow face. You can do this on a piece of burlap like a traditional scarecrow, or you can do it on a piece of paper or a paper plate.

Day 3-Chapter 3 How Dorothy Saved the Scarecrow

Read pages 33-48.

Talk about your own biggest fears.

Day 2 – Chapter 2- The Council with the Munchkins

Read pages 19-32.

Create your own silver shoes. Find an old pair you don’t wear anymore and cover them in silver paint or glitter.

Day 1 – Chapter 1 The Cyclone

Read pages 9-18.

Before Dorothy gets to Oz, everything is in grayscale. Draw or paint a picture all in grays.
