Scholastic Book Fair

Wednesday, November 8 – Preview Day

Kids will get their first look at the books and get to fill out their personal wish list!

Thursday, November 9 – Shopping Day!

Send your kids to school with money for them to buy their books!

Friday, November 10 – Make up Day!

Anyone who was absent or missed out can make last minute purchases!

 

Forms will be sent home today as well!!

PTA Sponsored Fall Festival October 27 6:00 pm-7:30 pm

ALL FESTIVAL (sponsored by Howe PTA)
Friday October 27th – 6:00pm-7:30pm
Let’s celebrate the fall season & Halloween holiday with an awesome party at Howe School!  We’ll be taking over the cafeteria and the interior courtyard with Halloween games & activities, a craft table, a picture backdrop area for photos, and even a haunted tent!  Candy will be handed out at each game station, and PTA will provide free cider & donuts!  All kids are encouraged to wear their best Halloween costumes!
This year we will also offer a concession stand with pizza, popcorn, water, & desserts for purchase!  The party begins at 6:00pm, so if you don’t have time to give the kids dinner, you can get them some dinner here at the party!
We’ll also be having a Jack O’ Lantern contest!  Bring in your best carved pumpkin, and we’ll light it up outside, assign it a number, and have the students vote on their favorite!  The winner of the contest will go home with a pumpkin pie!
In order to make this event a success, we will need a LOT of parent volunteers and helpers!  Your child will bring home a flier this week for the party.  At the bottom of the flier is a list of sign-ups, including participating in the Jack O’ Lantern contest, helping at the concessions tables, running the craft table, and running a game outside for the kids!  The more helpers we have, the more fun the kids have!  Please consider donating your time and fill out a volunteer spot!
Cost is $3.00/child – this will help cover the cost of candy & supplies needed to make this event spectacular!
We also need the following supplies donated from willing parents:
– 3 packages of toilet paper (can be super cheap, 6 pack)
– 5 packages of fake spider webs (can be found at Target, Meijer, or craft stores)
**These items can be dropped off to the main office at any time before the party.  If you can donate one or more item, we would greatly appreciate it.

Mark Your Calendars!

Here are a few important dates for PTA related activities:
  • Apparel order forms go home this week. Please turn in by Oct. 18th.
  • PTA meeting Wednesday, October 11th after school, meet on the playground.
  • Box tops collection week is Oct 23-27.  The class with the most submissions wins a pizza party!
  • Fall festival is Friday, October 27th from 6pm-7:30pm in the cafeteria/courtyard.

Blue Shirt Day – October 2, 2017

Monday, October 2 is stand up to bulllying day.  By doing so, we ask to put a blue shirt on your child, if possible to take a stance against bullying!! Our class says NO to bullying.  In the beginning of the year, we all signed a pledge to be an upstander!  Let’s continue this!!  Thank you!!
